Fine Line
thin as breath heavy as choice
made from solid silver, the nib adorned the quill, drawing up the ink, I drew the finest line.
a line is drawn the sand in my shoes is endless and I ponder the distance between each evanescent breath observing the gossamer thread from which my life delicately hangs and flutters a string of eternal nows winding around memory and undulating over circuitous paths each is littered with more questions like the sun and the moon past and future harmoniously exist in parallel zones and I am the space in between where chaos is embraced to make way for peace as each day begins anew I am reminded that I cannot always stand on the precipice I truly wish to move but my feet are glued to the fine line between healing out loud and bleeding for applause between surviving and living I walk razor wires unable to hold on unable to let go thin as breath heavy as choice I hold balance like a blade in my mouth and parts of me are cut away in the name of peace I blur the lines between what lifts me up and what consumes me the fine line that connects the doors of life and death and the fine line that defines my fate I do not know where all this started but it sits like a war in my mind I am always strung up in indecision over a boundary so barely there perhaps no one would ever know which line I crossed or if I crossed one at all

PLEASE NOTE:
sometimes when creating a collaborative poem, it ends up that even smaller fragments lead to a unified whole or that words and phrases call for further shaping and moulding. This is no reflection on the contributor. Instead, it’s a beautiful reminder that the creative process is always filled with twists and turns.
