fleeting moment
A collaborative poem
attend to the heart hold it dearly its flickering light but a flash fading too easily
you came like breath on cold glass gone before I could name you a soft lie of presence dressed as forever why do good things slip away? cursory as the first ray of morning light leaving nothing but a lingering aftertaste of nostalgia behind I remember cradling you always holding onto the promise of tomorrow a little too tightly now I reach and my hands return holding only the shape you used to be
storms calm ships drift and people survive the violent edge of the sea but in no world could I endure the arrow of pain you thrust into me our hearts: once united then you turned to leave and for a fleeting moment I wish death had rather taken me
This was a collaborative poem! Here are the wonderful writers that contributed: Rolando Andrade, HEW(Hue) of Poetry, Usama Idris, Gathering the Pieces of Me, Alex J, Bob Johnson, Vision2Verse, Anne Seebach, Elizabeth Ess, Amrita Skye Blaine
Please note:
sometimes when creating a collaborative poem, it ends up that even smaller fragments lead to a unified whole or that words and phrases call for further shaping and moulding. This is no reflection on the contributor. Instead, it’s a beautiful reminder that the creative process is always filled with twists and turns.

Powerful, Messy. Thanks for finding a way to include me even though I was late. I'll try to be more timely.
