Let love live on through you

love is not irrational
love is the perfect response
to a world devoid of meaning

no wonder we seek purpose
in the pursuit of connection
what better reason to be alive
than to love?

to face the banalities of life
to stare up at the sky
and feel so incredibly insignificant
and therefore so free
because in a world where nothing matters
you chose love as the thing to be

you love when all could be lost
you show up authentically
when you could be taken
advantage of

you laugh and you cry
you bleed and stay true
and even when you feel hurt
lonely or blue
you hold on to that rationality
and let love live on
through you

the world needs it
we all do
