Surrender
A collaborative poem
surrender your burdens sit a while we'll linger and remind each other to remain wild
I lay my yesterdays at the feet of my memories no longer carrying them into the sunrises of my tomorrows I'm tired of using resistance as a currency for peace I want to just give up not as an act of weakness but a proclamation of love I see how my pursuit for self actualisation causes grief for in my constant striving no one is able to reach me I am letting go with conviction knowing I will break apart and be left empty at least space will be made for contentment inside me broken and purposeless but still breathing I release trusting I will be caught trusting I can allow myself to soften towards surrender
there is magic in thinking I will be caught and given strength in my letting go but true surrender is rarely so soft
This was a collaborative poem! Here are the wonderful writers that contributed:
Kim D. Bailey, HEW(Hue) of Poetry, Verdant Butterfly, Echoes From The Fire, Dr.Henna - Soul Mentor, Dylz, Alphonso Sunil, Bob Johnson, Kay Vicencio, Kate M. Sine, Amrita Skye Blaine, author and poet
Please note:
sometimes when creating a collaborative poem, it ends up that even smaller fragments lead to a unified whole or that words and phrases call for further shaping and moulding. This is no reflection on the contributor. Instead, it’s a beautiful reminder that the creative process is always filled with twists and turns.
