Vulnerability in Two Parts
A collaborative post
I have had the privilege of writing with the wonderful and talented Izabella 💌. Our collaboration has been in the works for some time and I’m so happy I can finally present it to you!
We’ve each written our own poems under a common theme: vulnerability. The poems take a view of vulnerability and how we experience it.
I hope that you, dear reader, resonate with our words and feel moved to reflect on what vulnerability feels like in your own body and mind.
Enjoy❤️
Unfold Me
it hurts
not like a papercut
rather like a bruise
the kind of pain one leans into
the kind that eases when touched
do not
let me close around this sore
tenderly unfold me
exposing my layers
to the sting of the sun
poke your fingers into my heart
plump with tears and affection
I will surrender to you
- Messy Sacred
Is the new version
I become
each morning
waking beside you.
In the improbable
collision of two
distinct natures,
that trace opposite trails
through the forest of the mind,
our destinies
dove headfirst
into uncharted paths.
Running through life
became walking with you,
and no tempting
pair of jeans
is needed anymore
for me to feel
worthy of love.
For better or for worse,
for richer or for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
I allow myself to be touched
by the uncertainty
of our forever.
With no guarantee
of leaving unscathed,
but certainly
vaster.
